Workshops

Archery

Participants in these workshops will learn international style target archery during a 1.5-2 hour workshop.  We will cover safety, equipment, technique and shooting skills. Instructors are certified through the National Archery in the Schools Program as well as Bow Hunter Education Instructors. Maximum of 10 participants/session; multiple sessions may be scheduled in one day. Minimum age 9 years and the cost is $25 per participant, $250 minimum.  There may be additional mileage and set-up costs depending on location and program desired.  

Astronomy

Participants learn some basic astronomy during the 1.5 hour session. We can cover a variety of topics such as planets, stars, galaxies, etc. that make up our solar system and universe. Depending on availability, most booked sessions can be taught by a PhD Astronomer.   Program consists of a classroom discussion of the topic and then a telescope viewing session. If desired, refreshments such as s'mores and hot coco can be added.  Max of 20 participants/session; multiple sessions may be scheduled in one day.  Minimum age 6 years and the cost is $8 per participant, $160 minimum. There may be additional mileage and set-up costs depending on location and program desired.  

Wilderness Survival

Participants will learn basic wilderness survival skills during this 2 hour workshop.  We will cover safety, pre-trip planning, equipment, fire starting, shelter building and signaling. Students will spend time in the classroom learning about these important skills then will head outside for an in-the-field skills practice session.  Maximum of 20 participants/session; multiple sessions may be scheduled in one day. Minimum age 9 years and the cost is $15/person, $180 minimum.  There may be additional mileage and set-up costs depending on location and program desired.  

Navigation/GPS/Geocaching

Participants will learn about wilderness navigation, GPS technology and Geocaching in this 1.5 hour workshop.  The program begins with a classroom style presentation and discussion on navigation terms/methods as well as GPS Technology and Geocaching basics.  Next participants work together to find Geocaches using the information they learned.  Participants can use their own smart phones or our GPS units. Max of 20 participants/session; multiple sessions may be booked in one day. Minimum age of 10 years and the cost is $15 per participant, $150 minimum.  There may be additional mileage and set-up costs depending on location and program desired.  

Fishing

Participants will learn basic fishing techniques in this up to 4 hour workshop.  The type of fishing can generally be adapted to participants (Fly Fishing, Spin/Bait Fishing, and Ice Fishing).  Depending on timeframe and details, a private stocked lake in the metro area may be available for these events. All bait, tackle, and gear is provided. Topics of basic lake ecology, fish anatomy, and responsible fishing practices are included.  Minimum age of 6 years and the cost can vary depending on program, but starts at $8 per participant, $150 minimum.  Depending on lesson type, maximum capacity can range from 5-50, the higher being mostly for basic spin/bait fishing classes.  There may be additional mileage and set-up costs depending on location and program desired.  

Camping Skills

Participants will learn basic camping skills in this 2 hour workshop.  We will cover safety, pre-trip planning, equipment, camp set-up, fun activities and troubleshooting. Students will spend time outdoors learning ways to plan and implement their own camping trips. We will cover different items such as campsite selection and tent set-up plus we will cover camp cooking and fun games/activities.  All necessary equipment will be provided.  Maximum of 20 participants/session; multiple sessions may be scheduled in one day. Minimum age 6 years and the cost is $10/person, $200 minimum.  There may be additional mileage and set-up costs depending on location and program desired.

Firearms Classes and Guiding Services

Home Firearm Safety/ CCW/General Firearm Classes

Participants will learn the basics of owning and handling a firearm in this 4 hour workshop.  During this class NRA certified instructor(s) will cover firearm safety, different types of firearms, ammunition, storage, family education, and different recreational opportunities.  This workshop is designed to educate novices on how to safely own/handle a firearm in their home.  NOT A CCW CLASS.  CCW classes are available.  There is no range component to this workshop, but can potentially be added on.  Maximum of 20 participants/session; multiple sessions may be scheduled in one day. Minimum age 9 years and the cost is $30/person, $200 minimum.  There may be additional mileage and set-up costs depending on location and program desired.  

Colorado Hunter Education

Participants will be guided through the Colorado Hunter Education course with State Certified instructors.  The course consists of several components including firearm safety, hunting rules and regulations, Colorado habitats, wildlife identification, and more.  Participants have the opportunity to take the online course and then complete an in-person conclusion course or they can choose to take a full in-person class.  All Colorado Hunter Education courses require a range/shooting component.  For a full list of available classes please check Colorado Parks and Wildlife's website.

Angler & Hunter Adventures LLC provides amazing opportunities beyond the terrific classes we offer.  The idea of taking newly learned outdoor skills and putting them to use in the field on your own can be very daunting.  If this is the case then we can offer the chance to get outdoors with experienced 

professional(s).  As a fully licensed and insured Colorado Outfitter, let us help you plan and implement your grand outdoor adventure.  We can simply provide an experienced guide to assist you and your friends/family during your outdoor getaway, or we can do it all.  Our all inclusive outdoor adventures provide trip planning, most equipment (with the exception of personal items), experienced guide(s), activities, food, etc.  Basically all you have to do is show up.  Prices, locations, and other details are subjective.   Please contact us today for more information and to book your adventure.

The great part about most of our programs is that they are mobile and we can come to you.  We have provided excellent outdoor programs in parks, churches, schools, community centers, natural areas, and even in backyards.  If you are looking for a place to host your program we work with a wide variety of organizations and facilities as well.

(Programs must follow all state, city, and local ordinances thus not all programs can be offered in all areas.)
